Description
Dvardala is a perfect axe for hunting and forest life. It is a combination of several different axe types, ideal for a day in the forest where you might have to deal with a wide range of challenges. It has the same type of head as the Hultafors Åby axe, but the handle is shorter - 440 mm long (17 inches) - making the axe easier to bring with you, for example in a backpack. The shorter handle also makes it easier when you work with the axe close to the body. The axe is suitable for precision work such as carving or building shelters, fire stands and other things around a camp site. This is thanks to a well-proportioned hand notch and a semi-straight edge with a flat and wide grind. The hand notch allows you to grip around the head and steer the axe with maximum control. The edge is a semi-straight with flatter sides allowing the axe to rest firmly against the work piece when you cut along a piece of wood. But it’s still curved enough so that the axe can be used for lighter forestry work such as clearing a path or a line of fire. The head is a bit thicker over the cheeks giving it good splitting capabilities so you can chop firewood. Dvardala is a gift that hunters anywhere will appreciate, and it could of course also be used for processing game out in the field. The axe is hand-forged in Hults Bruk according to tradition since 1697. The head weighs nominally 0.7 kg and is made of Swedish CO2-neutral axe steel. The semi-straight edge has a Scandinavian premium grind that is polished, razor sharp and ready for use. The axe has a curved, narrow handle with a pronounced end knob for a more secure grip. The sheath is made in Sweden with hides from Swedish cows and it is manufactured with the greatest care for the animals and the environment. The leather is vegetable tanned full grain leather for the best possible durability and the natural treatment means that it will age beautifully when worn. The axe is named after Dvardala, which is an old name for the forest area just north of Hults Bruk. This is where the Kolmården Forest begins and from Borgar mountain in Dvardala you have a fantastic view of the area, which is known for good hunting of both wild game and wild boar. Take care of your axe, and it will be a faithful friend for many years to come. We are very proud of the craftsmanship and quality of our axes, and we give you a lifetime warranty on the axe head.
