Big, bulky and brutal

By far the beefiest and toughest feeling Spyderco folder in my collection. This thing is heavy and robust as hell.

The Shaman is a great design by a legend in the knife community. There is a reason it is so popular - try one for yourself!

I have been using the Shaman for about 2 weeks now and it's a great knife. It is a full size knife but fits in the hand perfectly. Strong and durable. There are only two things i think that needs some improvement the spine of the blade could do with some chamfering and the scales could do with some texturing. Because the it's very slippery. But still a very good knife.

The good.

The ergos are amazing
Nice jimping
Lovely blade shape
Massive knife that feels secure in the hand and won’t go anywhere.

The bad
Backspacer is not flush with the frame and scales.
My blade has some minor side to side play in, I don’t have a high quality driver to adjust yet.
It’s heavy as hell.

I really did not like this knife when I first got it but after forcing myself to pick this up over the para 3 I fell in love. The ergos are amazing and you can Open it in so many ways it makes it perfect fidget buster. You can even front flip it with the jimping on the spine. Tooooops. It’s big and sturdy and it is what I initially hated about it , is what I love about it.

The backspacer is a bit of a kak one but I use my knives so it doesn’t bother me.

Try the native if you looking for a smaller version of this knife.

Very gorgeous knife and extremely happy to get it from Martin while it's unavailable everywhere on the market.
The opening action is a little coarse when new and will see if it improves after putting in some lube.
The G10 handle is not as grippy as Para 2's. Might seek some fancy flytanium replacement after using it for a while..
The blade finish on my Shaman seems to be stone wash instead of satin. Actually stone wash is better on a work knife like this.
